Welcome to Stagehand

Screen sharing is normally all-or-nothing: either your whole desktop is exposed, or you have to stop and re-share every time you switch what you’re showing. Checking a note, closing a notification, or switching tabs mid-call means your audience sees it too.

Stagehand puts a curtain between what’s on your screen and what your audience sees. You mirror one window or display into a dedicated Stagehand Output window and share that instead of your real screen. The curtain can be up (your content is live) or down (a clean, branded curtain plays instead; you can still see through it, your audience can’t). Nothing you do while the curtain is down reaches your audience until you raise it.

What you get

• Curtain-down default. The curtain is down on launch, so you can’t accidentally go live before you’re ready.
• Scene messages instead of a blank screen. Rather than a static “waiting for host” screen, your audience sees a branded curtain with a message like Starting Soon or Intermission.
• Global hotkey. ⌘⇧B raises or drops the curtain from anywhere on your Mac, without re-sharing or switching to your conferencing app’s controls.
• Confidence monitor. A live mini-preview shows exactly what your audience sees, so you’re not guessing.
